Standing out as a tourist makes you more of a target.
You should also check for any travel warnings that have been issued prior to traveling. When you are traveling both domestically and abroad it is safer to travel with traveler’s checks and credit cards than to use cash. If your credit cards are misplaced or stolen they can be canceled and replaced by the company. You would not be out any money that may have been spent the credit card company will take care of any fraudulent charges.
When traveling abroad with a credit card be sure to inform your card company that you will be traveling. If the credit card company does not know you are traveling they might declare the charges fraudulent and lock your account. If you want to be able to use your cell phone when traveling be sure that it will work overseas. There are many cell phones that are not world wide capable. As long as you take precautions you will have a safe and fun vacation.
