A checklist before the Bon Voyage!

When I used think about traveling to a foreign land, I got very paranoid. After all, you are in an alien land with nothing to provide you with the comfort of your own home and even your own country. The rules, regulations and legislations are totally different and the thought itself used to scare the life out of me. This was before I decided to educate myself on the various contingencies I can face while traveling to a foreign country and the way they can be tackled. Now that I know I’m not dumb enough to fall prey to any such situation, I’m less hyper when I need to travel.
Traveling is all about fun and if it is holiday time then surely you want to go abroad and explore hidden getaways in exotic lands. Doubts and worries shouldn’t overshadow your mood so it is better to be prepared for the worst even if it’s not going to happen. Getting a traveler’s insurance is the first and most basic step. It covers unexpected acts of terrorism, problems during pregnancy, urgent medical care facilities and any unplanned trips back home. You can fill out forms as and when you apply for your visa.
You should always pack your bags sensibly and even if you have to leave out that sexy little dress, packing a few medicines which you know you might need is mandatory. The foreign country you’re visiting might be out of this world, but it might not have all that you’re used to in your home country. So, make sure that you get your basics right before you go skiing off to Chalet val thorens.
Certain countries have strict rules for foreigners which you don’t want to violate. So ensure that your travel documents, tickets, passports etc are in order and have been duly obtained from reliable sources. Scams pulled on travelers are far more than you might realize. Foreign currency must be purchased from legal sources. The safety concerns don’t end here. Once you reach your destination, keep your documents and cash safely. You don’t want to end up living in there forever!
By now you must be cursing me, I know, but it all pays in the end! The whole point is to put on your enjoyment shoes and dance away during holidays. Planning a little beforehand makes sure that your trip is just what you expected and all tension is kept at bay.
