Have a Safe Trip

When you are planning a trip abroad you should take precautions to keep yourself from becoming a target. Though it is unlikely that you will be targeted it is better to travel safely than to take a chance no matter where you are going. From backpacking Europe to val thorens accommodation; Here is a list of precautions to take when traveling:

1. When traveling be sure to take very little cash. Use traveler’s checks and credit cards instead.

2. Make sure that you bring extra passport photo pictures and a complete copy of your passport in case you lost it and need to get it replaced quickly.

3. Be sure to bring an international phone card with you and keep it in a separate location in case your luggage or purse is stolen.

4. Avoid wearing any excess jewelry that could give on lookers the impression that you have something worth stealing.

5. Be sure to carry any medications close to you in a carry on in their original labeled containers.

6. Try not to be to open with your itinerary but do keep one handy in case of emergency. Also, leave a copy of your itinerary with someone you trust back home so that if there is an issue you can contact them for a copy.

7. If you have a cell phone or laptop computer, be sure that you keep a close eye on them at all times.

8. If you have medical insurance or travelers insurance keep all documents close at hand. Also, keep copies of all of these documents with someone that you trust at home in case you need to retrieve them quickly.

9. Take full advantage of any safe deposit boxes available to you in the hotel where you are staying. Do not leave important items in your room unattended.

10. Be sure that everyone knows what your plans are for return and where you will be staying for your trip.
