Preparing for Thailand: Vaccinations
Thailand is an incredibly popular destination for holiday makers and travellers from all over the world. The people of Thailand are regarded as one of the friendliest nations on the earth and the endless stretches of paradise beaches and cultural sights make it an attractive place to visit.
Official known as the ‘Kingdom of Thailand’ the country is situated in Southeast Asia and is divided in to seventy six provinces, the capital of Thailand is Bangkok.

Thailand’s climate is classified as Tropical, from May to September Thailand experiences rainy, warm, and cloudy monsoon weather and cooler and drier weather from November to mid March.
Tourism is a huge part of Thailand’s economy, noted in 2007 as contributing 6.7% to the countries GDP. The majority of the tourism to Thailand can be attributed to Malaysian and Chinese nationals, although the United Kingdom is the fourth largest contributor.

When preparing to visit Thailand from the United Kingdom, the travel advice recommends that both Typhoid and Hepatitis A vaccinations are taken, 10 days and 2 weeks prior to travel respectively. Furthermore there are also a number of other recommended vaccinations, including Diphtheria and Tuberculosis. Which vaccinations to have often depends on what part of the country you are travelling to and what activities you may be undertaking whilst you are there. Book an appointment to see you local doctor/nurse who will be able to give you the correct guidance on what vaccinations are required for your specific visit!
